CHOOSING THE RIGHT CASINO GAME, CRAPS
To optimize your chances of winning, we recommend playing craps, the house percentage against you is only around 1%, much less than in the slot machines and other games taht can be up to 15% or more. This means that over time you can expect to lose only one dollar of every one hundred dollars put into play.
I know, you are thinking that craps looks like fun but it is so complicated. Yes, it appears complicated and fast paced but actually it is not. It can be played very simply and in fact the simple way to play is the most advantageous to the player.
The pass-line bet means that you are betting that the thrower will make his point number before he throws a seven. The point numbers are established by the throwers first throw of the dice.
Point numbers are 6, 8, 5, 9, 4 and 10. If the throwers first throw of the dice is other than a point number say a 7 or 11, the pass-line bet wins. If the first throw of the dice is a 2 or 3 the pass-line bettor loses. Now that does not sound too hard does it.
On a $5 table buy in for $100. Walk up to the table find and empty spot and after the dealer makes any pay-outs he is working on and before the thrower throws, slide the $100 over the dealer and say "change only" this way he knows you are buying into the game and not placing a bet. The dealer will likely give you 20 $5 chips.
Lets say that the dice are going to a new thrower, you can tell this because the black disc on the table will be flipped to the side that says OFF. This is when you place your first bet. Put $5 on the pass-line right in front of where you are standing.
The new thrower's first throw is a 5. The black disc is flipped to the side that says ON and it is moved over behind the number 5 on the table. This is done on both the right and left sides of the table.
Now you place one unit ($5) odds bet behind your pass-line bet (if you are on a $5 table and your pass-line bet is $5, place another $5 chip behind the pass-line bet between the pass-line bet and you) and slide three $5 chips in the direction of the dealer (never hand the dealer your chips) and say 6 and 8 $6 each. The dealer will place a $6 bet on both the 6 and 8 and give you $3 change.
That is as hard as it gets!
The 6 and the 8 are the most often thrown numbers. Combined there are 10 dice combinations the make either a 6 or an 8 and only 6 that make a 7, so the 6 and 8 are very good bets.
That is really all there is to it. You should be able to play for quite a long time making only these bets. In the beginning play only these bets, nothing else. In time you will get a feel for the game and be able to expand your betting and maybe turn the casino odds in your favor.
